Welcome!

Food. I love to prepare it, I love to serve it, I love to eat it. I enjoy reading and learning about it. And I love that I have a husband who has a passion for pairing wine with it. This has truly been inspired by all of our travels to Europe, particularly France, and experiencing a culture where the preparation and enjoyment of food is placed as a high priority. My fondest memories of our trips were the countless hours spent around the dining table, with a feast consumed leisurely through a bevy of appetizers and main courses, usually accompanied by a plethora of wines and often lively discussions.

I am by no means "gourmet" (whatever that may mean) but I do appreciate the fresh ingredients that are readily available to us.  Most of what I cook is fairly simple, but I try to experiment with new ingredients, tastes and textures. I plan to use this blog to share what I learn along the way, as well as share recipes.  I would love your comments and suggestions, as I am sure this little project of mine will evolve over time.  Happy Cooking! :)

Summer in Provence. Dining alfresco, with good food, good wine, and good friends. This is the life!

I love pictures of markets.  If only they were like this in the states. I would be in heaven. This is at the Mercat St. Joseph in Barcelona.

So many unique and interesting delicacies!

Who IS this European guy with a dog?  Oh, it's Matt in disguise. This is at the market in Aix-en-Provence.
